Concrete Patios

An outdoor slab sized and sloped so water goes where it should.

Stamped Concrete

Get the look of pavers or stone without the gaps weeds grow through.

Concrete Repair

Cracked or sunken concrete fixed without tearing out the whole slab.

Concrete Steps & Porches

Solid steps and landings poured to code, not eyeballed.

Concrete Sidewalks

Walkways poured level and jointed so they don't heave over time.

Who We Are

A Local Concrete Crew

We pour concrete driveways, patios and walkways for homeowners all over San Jose and the surrounding valley. Most people find us after a slab has already cracked, sunk on one side, or turned to dust at the surface from years of scaling. If your driveway has a step where two pours meet, or your patio holds water after every rain, that's usually a grading or joint problem, not bad luck. We see the same handful of failures over and over, and most of them start below the surface.

Before we pour anything we deal with the base first, compacted aggregate, proper slope away from the house, and rebar or mesh depending on what the slab has to carry. We cut control joints within the first day, while the concrete is still soft enough to control where it splits. We don't let anyone drive on new concrete for at least seven days, longer if the weather's been cold, because that's when it picks up most of its strength. A slab poured on bad base will crack no matter how nice the finish looks on day one.

Our driveway in San Jose had a crack you could lose a quarter in. New pour looks great and they got the slope right so water actually drains toward the street now.

Stamped patio came out better than I pictured, though the sealer smell hung around a couple days longer than expected. Worth it once it cleared.

Stamped Concrete · Sunnyvale, CA
We're just outside San Jose in Campbell, and our sunken garage slab got mudjacked back up instead of torn out. Saved a good bit of money doing it that way.

Common Questions

Questions we get a lot

Answers to what people usually ask before calling a concrete contractor.

How much does a concrete driveway cost in San Jose?
A typical concrete driveway in the San Jose area is priced by square footage, thickness and finish, with a plain broom finish costing less than stamped or exposed aggregate. Most residential driveways run 4 to 6 inches thick depending on whether they carry vehicles or just foot traffic. Site access, demolition of an old driveway, and how much base prep is needed can move the price up or down. Getting an exact number means measuring the space and seeing what's under the existing surface.
Are you licensed and insured to pour concrete in California?
Concrete work in California requires a contractor's license, and a legitimate concrete contractor should also carry general liability insurance. Ask any contractor bidding a job to show proof of both before signing anything. Insurance protects a property if something goes wrong during forming, pouring or demolition.
How soon can you start a concrete project?
Start dates for concrete work depend on the season, current job backlog and how much prep the site needs before a pour. Small jobs like a walkway or steps can sometimes be scheduled within a couple weeks. Larger driveway or patio pours that need permits or engineering usually take longer to get on the calendar.
What areas do you cover around San Jose?
Concrete contractors based in San Jose typically cover the surrounding South Bay, including cities like Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, Campbell, Los Gatos and Milpitas within about a 30 to 40 minute drive. Service area usually depends on job size, since a small repair might not be worth a long drive but a full driveway pour usually is.
Do you work on both houses and small commercial properties?
Most residential concrete contractors handle driveways, patios, walkways and small slabs at houses, and some also take on small commercial jobs like sidewalks or parking pads. Larger commercial concrete work, like full parking lots, usually falls to a bigger paving outfit with different equipment.
Will you take on a small job like a single walkway or steps?
Yes, most concrete contractors take on small jobs like a single set of steps, a walkway patch or a small pad, not just full driveways. Small jobs are usually scheduled between larger pours rather than given a dedicated crew day, which can affect how soon they get done.
How do I get started with a concrete quote?
Getting a concrete quote usually starts with a call or a photo of the area that needs work, followed by an in-person look to measure the space and check the base underneath. From there a contractor should give a written estimate that breaks down thickness, reinforcement and finish before any work is scheduled.
What actually affects the cost of a concrete job?
Concrete pricing moves with square footage, thickness, the finish chosen (plain, stamped or exposed aggregate), whether an old slab has to be demolished first, and how much base prep the soil requires. Access for the concrete truck and pump also affects price, since a hard-to-reach backyard costs more to pour than a driveway right off the street.
Do you require a deposit before starting work?
Most concrete contractors ask for a deposit before ordering materials and scheduling a pour, with the balance due once the work is finished and the customer has walked the job. Deposit amounts vary, so it's worth getting the payment schedule in writing as part of the estimate.
What happens if it rains on a scheduled pour day?
Concrete can't be poured in active rain, since water changes the mix ratio and weakens the finished slab. A scheduled pour gets pushed to the next available dry day, and a contractor watching the forecast should give notice before the crew and truck show up.
